Whipping up a batch of homemade herbal bath and beauty products is easier than you may believe, and the ingredients are not hard to find – many can even be found in your local grocery or health food store. Here are a couple simple recipes to get you started!
HERBAL BATH SALTS: In general, you’ll need three tablespoons of coarse sea salt and up to ten drops of essential oils per bath. Add a few drops of coloring if you wish. Shake all the ingredients together in a paper bag and store the finished product in a decorative glass jar.
Morning Wake-up Bath
3 tbsp. coarse sea salt
3 drops rosemary
2 drops juniper
2 drops bergamot
2 drops sandalwood
Evening Calming Bath
3 tbsp. coarse sea salt
4 drops lavender
2 drops ylang-ylang
2 drops chamomile
1 drop nutmeg

Soothing Honey-Orange Lip Balm
2 tsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. beeswax
1/2 tsp. cocoa butter
1/2 tsp. honey
3 drops essential oil of orange
1 vitamin E capsule
Measure the olive oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter into a glass or enamel pan. Melt over low heat, stirring often until the wax is melted. Remove from heat and stir in honey, essential oil, and the contents of the vitamin E capsule. Pour into containers.
